In 2003 a family of overseas business professionals eagerly embarked on the establishment of a new garment factory in their native country Ethiopia. Recent governmental efforts to improve Ethiopia's economy coupled with business incentives provided under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) were key factors in the realization of Novastar Garment Factory.Â
Its spacious new factory building was completed in 2005. Novastar's founders received their business education and technical training in the United States. Collectively they hold over 30 years of experience in the western market. They have combined their extensive over-seas business training and knowledge of Ethiopian language, dialects and culture to establish a solid and innovative infrastructure.Â
The merger of Western and African business culture contributes to high-quality yet lower-cost manufacturing attractive to over-seas wholesalers. Novastar's management system allows for streamlined delegation of functions and decision-making authority enabling swift decisions and efficiency at all levels.Â
Our team of manager's who oversea the company's logistics and production are ex-patriots who have brought with them more than 50 years of combined experience. Novastar value's its 260 plus employees. Ergonomic comfort and spacious work areas were a priority in its factory design. All employees receive fair wages and a clean, safe and pleasant working environment is keenly promoted. This is accomplished through continuous employee training and education. The result is higher employee retention and productivity. Our staff is comprised of expert workers with a cohesive group of valuable skills, all who work hard to come up with new designs to match today's trends and fashions. Having established a solid technical base, Novastar is successfully manufacturing a wide array of men's, women's and children's apparel, using knitted fabrics. These include pole shirts, t-shirts, athletic tank tops, mesh pants, shorts, and shirts, as well as other clothing styles.
We use the latest in embroidery equipment, tools, and digitalized software. Our staff of artists works closely with our clients to produce eye-catching designs and logos, which can be screen-printed on our entire product line, as part of a custom order. Our Client We are targeting the U.S. and European market. 95% of our products will be sold overseas with the remainder being sold in the local market.
Being a quality driven company, we lay massive emphasis on the quality of our garments. Our garments are noted for their quality workmanship. We ensure that the fabric is of the finest quality. A lot of emphasis is laid on the designs, color and strength of garments. Style is as important as quality is significant. All our products are subject to in-house scrutiny for multiple times. The scrutiny begins from the receiving of raw materials. The raw materials procured from outside are checked thoroughly by the experts to determine the parity between their quality standards and ours.
Once cleared, the raw materials are adopted for manufacturing. The manufacturing process is a very closely watched one. The process is divided into several halves for the purpose of better monitoring.Â
The products matching the quality criteria in a given stage of development graduate to the succeeding stage. Thus we ensure minimization in possibility of lapses in quality surveillance process.Â
Our fabrics are made to high quality standards with proper dimensional stability, color fastness, shrinkage control and uniform dyeing. Each product is subjected to strict quality control measures to ensure that only the best in terms of quality and design reaches the market.Â
