Oriel Limited was founded in 1993 as a subsidiary of ECTA group of Companies. Oriel originally started selling Bearings, Fan and Timing Belts. Oriel Limited has always believed in offering quality services and original products. At Oriel the Client comes first Oriel went on to acquire the agency to sell and distribute Monroe Shock Absorbers thus becoming the sole distributor in Kenya. Monroe is a brand of Tenneco Automotive, the world's leading producer and marketer of ride control and systems. We have a commitment to making driving a safer and more environmentally friendly experience. Monroe has developed models specifically designed and tested for all major automobile manufacturers from passenger cars through light commercial trucks and vans, heavy duty vehicles to high performance off-road vehicles.  In September 1999 Oriel Ltd relocated from Addis Ababa Road to Mombasa Road. This move was made to strategically locate Oriel Limited, also following with Oriel's commitment to quality of service. Oriel Limited then went on to open the Monroe Fitting Centre. Our Monroe Fitting Centre started on a very small note in year 2000. It started by offering shock absorbers free fitting service with only one mechanic and a few tools. Over the years it has developed to a full fledge fitting centre offering shocks and spring fitting, wheel alignment, wheel balancing and other suspension related jobs.

Incorporated in Kenya as Leyland Kenya Limited in 1974. Through a Special Resolution of the Shareholders the Company changed its name on 16 th May, 1989 to "Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers Limited".  It was the first vehicle assembly plant to be incorporated in Kenya and started production in 1976 with the first vehicle rolling off the assembly line in August, 1976. Cumulative production since inception now stands at approximately 60,000 vehicles. The plant was originally designed to produce light and heavy commercial vehicles including Land Rovers, Range Rovers, VolksWagen Microbuses, Leyland trucks and Buses. The vehicle model range produced at Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers Limited has increased over the years and now stands at 11. The range today includes Nissan Series, Mazda, Land Rover, Mercedes and Iveco. INVESTMENT Investment in buildings and plant now stands at 4 million US Dollars. AREA The plant covers an area of 40 acres of which 18 acres are reserved for further development. INSTALLED CAPACITY Installed capacity is 6,600 vehicles per annum, single shift. The company undertakes contract assembly i.e the customer (distributor) buys imports and transports kits to the plant at Thika. The customer buys all special jigs and tools and provides all local content except paint, fuel, oil and consumables. All our trailers are manufactures under strict supervisionand quality control to ensure customer satisfaction. In order to provide integrated and complete solutions to the customer we offer excellent after sales services in terms support and maintenance plus uninterrupted supply of parts To do this, SUPERDOLL has secured franchises from world renowned companies, namely: HELLA, REMA TIP-TOP , Weber, Varta and Optima of Germany, MICHELIN of France, BPW of Germany, CORGHI and Fini of Italy, Jost and VBG of Sweden.
