Alam Group of Companies has been in existence for over half a century and is primarily involved in the manufacturing, building and construction industry. The Company was founded by Mr.Manzur Alam who is the Chairman of the Group. In 1965, Uganda Steel Windows Ltd was established under the Alam Group umbrella. The company was responsible for manufacturing metal doors, windows, louvers, shop front, slotted angles, hacksaw blades, wire ropes, welding rods, fencing, steel trunks, BRC and all kinds of furniture and steel pipes. The name Uganda Steel Windows Ltd was later changed to Casements (A) Ltd in 1967.   Alam Group of companies has played its part in order to help the community and will continue to do so in the future. Some of the contributions made by the Alam Group of companies include:   The sponsoring of sports events such as the Kampala Kids league (KKL), boxing events as well as numerous golf competitions. Golf is one of the sports that Alam Group has taken pleasure in sponsoring with the aim of improving golfing talent among the younger generation. The last big event sponsored by Alam Group was the 59th Uganda open which took place at the Kitante golf course in Kampala. Golfers from Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda participated in this great event. The tournament consisted of two categories, the main competition as well as the childrens competition.    Alam Group has contributed towards helping the Muslim community with the construction of Mosques as well as sponsoring various other activities.   Alam Group has sponsored various children's football league's such as the Kampala kids league (KKL) and the Nakivubo children's football club. Alam group has played an important role in promoting the children's sporting skills through the sponsorship of tournaments and sports wear.   Since 1965 Alam Group of Companies has been in existence for over half a century and is primarily involved in the building and construction industry. Based on the beautiful Garden Route of South Africa, NST Solid Wood Home Systems was established 1967 in association with the well-known Thesen Group of Knysna, South Africa. NST created and pioneered the first commercially available authentic log home in South Africa under patent and built numerous American styled up-market framed homes in South Africa during the early years. Our Timberlog system is the only one using full 140mm round logs throughout (both inside and outside walls) with alternating log corners in the traditional manner. The system was patented in 1973 and has been extensively improved over the years. We use the 900mm grid system for the designs and we use our Mainframe system for framework above the ground floor height. Although there are any number of designs available from our archives, clients can, within limits, have any building design executed in the Timberlog style provided it conforms to the 900mm grid. Furthermore, we design our solidwood structures to suit your particular site and your specific functional requirements, with special emphasis on environmental impact and preservation of the ecology. Our comprehensive service ranges from conceptual and final design, kit manufacture, and site control, in conjunction with selected constructors in different parts of the world. This service package also provides for normal product and workmanship guarantees. Typical projects include complete resort developments, residential houses, bungalows and specialty buildings such as restaurants. SAFAL was established to consolidate the operations of several allied companies in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zambia, Angola and Malawi.
