The Hide Safari Camp is the product of our passion for nature in general, and Hwange National Park in particular. Built in 1992 by the Preston family, who remain deeply involved to this day, The Hide Safari Camp has earned its reputation as a consummate safari destination, for both the exceptional wildlife experience and the hospitality it offers.  As our guest, you'll stay in one of just ten beautiful tented suites with views over the waterhole, where animals congregate day and night. Between game drives and walks in the National Park, there is plenty of time to relax in a comfortable lounge or sit quietly in a hide to watch the wildlife.  After meals all together around a giant table or al fresco under the Acacia trees, you can spend a lazy afternoon by the plunge pool or in the shade of your verandah. Since The Hide Safari Camp was sited in one of Hwange National Park's prime wildlife areas nearly twenty years ago, we have distilled the essence of the safari experience and embellished it with our own distinctive style. Hwange was once the royal hunting ground of Ndebele kings and has long been known for its abundant and diverse wildlife. In particular, the park is known for herds of elephant and buffalo numbering in the hundreds. This is one of the best places to see lion, leopard and African wild dog among the hundred or so other mammal and four hundred bird species. We understand that you come to Africa first and foremost to encounter the continents' natural beauty. Papaya Garden is situated on the exquisite white sand Diani Beach in Kenya, making it the perfect location for anyone who is looking for a relaxing, sunshine filled beach holiday in a lush, exotic location. Far away from large hotels with their crowded beaches, the luxurious Papaya Garden is just 10 minutes away from quiet and recluse white sand beaches. Papaya Garden is the perfect indulgent gateway for families, couples and singles alike. Papaya Garden offers amenities and is near local attractions so visitors can choose their vacation experience, whether it be relaxing or invigorating. If you are looking for for an affordable and relaxing holiday that is not the normal, run of the mill experience, then Papaya Garden is for you. Our villa compound is a tropical paradise. The entire acre plot is surrounded by a bougainvillea-covered wall. The garden is carefully looked-after and you will find a dazzling display of beautiful, fragrant exotic flowers, bananas, papayas and passion fruits, which visitors are free to sample straight from the trees. At the center of the compound is a chlorine free 11x7 swimming pool. Unlike chemical pools, are pool is kept clean with a salt-water system so visitors don't suffer from the red eyes and burning typical in pools treated with chlorine.  Papaya Garden has its own water source and water supply that provides drinking quality water 24 hours a day. Both hot and cold water are always available for guests. This is a luxury since there are many places around Mombassa that suffer from water supply issues during the dry season since most water sources need to be replenished by rain. Thankfully, visitors to Papaya Garden will never have to worry about water shortage.  There are two, fully furnished villas for visitors to stay in at Papaya Garden. The villa's are named after my little daughter's favorite cartoons Dora and Holly. Both of the villas are built with coral stone in the local Swahili style and features a makuti (palm thatched) roof. Each villa can sleep up to 6 people comfortably, and are available on a nightly or weekly basis (see rates for the dates of minimum nights required per villa). Both of the villas have an upper and lower floor. On the lower floor are two rooms with king sized beds, with one of the bedrooms featuring its own bathroom. The upper floor also features a bedroom with a king sized beds and babycout . All of the beds have mosquito nets and all rooms, including veranda, are equipped with silent ceiling fans. All of the bathrooms have a walk - in shower , that makes them full wheelchair accessible. Each villa also features a spacious living room for those that want to relax indors where there is a single bed size safer bed. Each villa offers a covered outdoor, terraced dining area overlooking the swimming pool. The traditional architecture of the villa's makes use of the always-present sea breeze and provides the area with a cool and very pleasant temperature all day long. The fully equipped kitchen that is located in each villa features a gas cooker, an oven, a refrigerator with a freezer, a coffee maker, a toaster and a microwave. Sufficient kitchen utensils are available. A chef can also be contracted at reasonable rate £ 5 per day, for those who wish to have this service. Our cook will be happy to cook sumptuous typical meals and can also take care of your daily shopping. Its also possible to arrange to have fresh fish and seafood can be brought straight to your door by local fishermen. Depending on the season you can buy lobsters, prawns, crabs, red snapper and many other assorted fish direct from the fisherman.Also available are an assortment of African game meat such as Impala, Ostrich and crocodile can be bought in the nearby town of Mombassa. A personal chef can also find and prepare for you meals of African game upon request. Rental rates include daily made service of your villa including linen and towel service. The housekeeper can also be hired to go into town and shop for guests for an extra daily charge. However, there are some local shops around the area and several big super markets with standard European items just a 10 minutes drive from Papaya Garden for those guests who wish to do their own shopping. When guests first arrive, every step is taken to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable first day. We can arrange for your first day shopping so that you can relax while we keep your fridge stocked up with cool, refreshing drinks. Simply supply us of what you need and we will supply the rest. We can also organize day excursions to the Shimba Hills, Mombassa, the Shimoni Caves, the Wasini Island Mangroves and the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park. While the Papaya garden staff officially works from 8 to 5 pm assistance can can be arranged for those that require something extra. This is because our staff, a housekeeper, pool attendant and gardener, remain on-site in separate lodgings 24 hours a day. This way they are available to assist you with anything you need during your stay. Wireless 3G Internet connection in available throughout the compound for guests added convenience. While the area around Duabi is safe and secure, a Papaya Garden employes the service of a Samburu Masai warrior as a security guard on a 24 hour basis.
