A-Z Petroleum Products Ltd, a full service Lubricating oil Blending Plant, incorporated in 1995 is engaged in the research, development, production and marketing of petroleum and petrochemical products. The company procures base oil from refineries overseas through the operating licence obtained from the Directorate of Petroleum Resources of Nigeria (DPR). A-Z employs the latest in addictive and blending technology to deliver to its numerous loyal customers the quality products that best meet their highest expectations. The company's products offer an exceptional combination of superior quality and economy… achieved through well researched, innovative and efficient production methods. Currently, A-Z Petroleum has an annual production of about 25 million litres of assorted brands of lubricants. These products find application in industrial machinery and automotive industries. The automotive oils constitute a very high percentage of the company's entire production and are tailor-made to cater for the numerous lubrication needs of all kinds of automobiles.  At present, the company is engaged in research with its technical partners for the local production of viscosity improvers. Even as a private initiative, it aims at fostering an integrated course of action which will contribute a lot to the growth and development of the lubricant industry.

Africa Fuels & Lubricants LTD (AFAL) has signed a distribution agreement with Chevron Lubricants, owner and producer of Chevron, Texaco and Caltex-branded lubricants and one of the global leaders in fuel and fuel additive technology. The agreement gives AFAL authorized distributor status for lubricants under the Caltex brand. AFAL will now be the authorized distributor of Caltex products including the Delo and Havoline brands, as well as industrial lubricants in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.  Africa Fuels & Lubricants LTD (AFAL) was incorporated in Kenya in 2011 to pursue oil and gas opportunities in the African continent. AFAL is the sole authorized distributor of Caltex products including the Delo and Havoline brands, as well as industrial lubricants in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The parent company’s lubricant warehousing and distribution division offers AFAL customers the opportunity of an end-to-end supply chain service for their lubricant marketing business. National Oil is state corporation under the Ministry of Energy incorporated in April 1981 and charged with participation in all aspects of the petroleum industry. National Oil has a 100% Government of Kenya shareholding. National Oil became operational in 1984 and its initial operations were limited to exploration activities delegated from the Ministry of Energy. In 1988, National Oil went downstream and actively started participating in the importation and sale of petroleum products including crude oil, white fuels, lubricants and LPG.  National Oil is a state corporation involved in the upstream exploration of oil and gas as well as downstream marketing of petroleum products including motor and industrial fuels, LPG, lubricants and related non-fuel supplies. National Oil controls over 7% of the retail market in Kenya and is aggressively expanding its retail footprints in the country as it moves towards market leadership. The formation of National Oil was precipitated by the oil crisis of the 1970's (1973/74 and 1979/80) and the correspondent supply disruptions and price hikes which resulted in the country's oil bill comprising of almost one third of the total value of imports and therefore making petroleum the largest single drain of Kenya's foreign exchange earnings.    National Oil was therefore born out a need by the Government of Kenya to have greater control of the petroleum sector which is a crucial determinant of the country's economic performance. National Oil has since remained the Government's policy instrument in matters related to oil specifically in the upstream exploration of oil and gas, mid-stream development of petroleum infrastructure and downstream marketing of petroleum products including motor and industrial fuels, lubricants, LPG and related motor consumables and hardware.
