Founded as an independent company in 1965, Ries Engineering S. Co. (RESCO) is the Caterpillar dealer representative for Ethiopia. Prior to that, it was operating as an engineering department of Paul Ries & Sons (ETH) Ltd since 1961, when its founders, the Ries family, acquired the Caterpillar dealership for Ethiopia. RESCO has been established with capabilities that enabled it provide full support to its customers.

Vonall is a newly established business deriving from the Von Allmen Ernest Aluminium and Steel Metal Workshop (VAE). VAE was established almost 50 years ago by Mr. Ernest von Allmen who came to Ethiopia to provide metal processing services. During his first contract in Ethiopia he was involved in a job on the palace of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie. Thereafter other contracts and work orders followed which expanded the stay of the founder. After a few years of working in the fields and on different sites throughout the country Mr. von Allmen decided to establish a workshop in Addis Ababa.
