The company's manufacturing operation was established in 1953 by Graeme V. Donald in Port Elizabeth after emigrating from New Zealand were the parent company had been manufacturing wire stretchers and wool compaction equipment for over fifty years. During 1958 the distribution division was established with our first principal being Dunlop Industrial Products which still forms part and partial of the many principals we represent. Our factory based in Uitenhage employs in excess of 25 people with an average staff turnover of eleven years. It is fully equipped for in house production from raw material stage to final product to approximately 98%. Apart from manufacturing Wire Stretchers and accessories, we manufacture a comprehensive range of Heavy Duty Hose Clamps, tractor mounted Post Driver, specialised trailers and wool compaction equipment. We have the reputation of having the largest range of Wire Stretchers and accessories on offer worldwide. In 1987 we acquired a British wire stretcher manufacturer who for many years supplied the South African market with the Holdfast Wire Stretcher now manufactured locally by ourselves. Our association with the fence industry has focused primarily towards the supply of quality tools and accessories for all specifications of fence installation. Our manufacturing facility allows us to produce products that are non-standard to our current range as per specific requirement that the client may require. Fencing plays a vitally important role to the agricultural sectors being part and partial of the management system. Wildlife, Industrial and Domestic sectors are also closely related to the Fence Industry. Fencing is regarded as an expensive installation and therefore long term. We as a provider of tools and accessories for fence installation purposes are aware of the importance towards the correct installation procedures to be applied to conventional and electric fencing. J. Stanley-Owusu & Company Limited was incoporated in 1970 as a privately owned Ghanaian Civil Engineeering Company. The company had originally operated as J. Stanley-Owusu Contract Works in 1961 and was involved in the supply of sand, stones and gravels with its fleet of tipper trucks and wheel loaders.    In 1965, J. Stanley-Owusu Contract Works procured its first mobile crushing machine with a capacity of 20 tonnes per hour.
