In February 1993 the Board of Directors of SONANGOL (Angolan National Oil Company), conducted a feasibility study for the development for an Oil Service Center in Luanda , Angola . With this concept and by complying with the compulsory rules and regulations laid down by the Port of Luanda, all cargo to transit through Customs bonded areas that are monitored and controlled by the local Authorities, an efficient and effective supply of materials and equipment is being guaranteed and maintained. SONILS (Sonangol Integrated Logistic Services) Lda is a Joint-Venture between SONANGOL and INTELS. The INTELS group is active in Oilfield logistics with operational bases throughout the West African Coast, offering a wide range of integrated logistic solutions, facilities and services to the Oil and Gas Industry. This partnership works nowadays as a true catalyst to the Oil and Gas industry in Angola, founding its activity on the dual role of SONANGOL, as policy implementation entity but also participating in E&P, recognizing the strategic importance of an Oil Service Center and defining a clear strategy of participating and promote high quality services; and on the large experience INTELS has on similar developments (Nigeria, Congo and Ivory Coast), defining a clear regional approach and developing the concept of positioning logistic supply bases within main port complexes. ÁREA DE COBERTURA A área de cobertura é de 141 km2 de superfície, abrangendo 8 Municípios da Cidade de Luanda com uma clientela efectiva de 112.379 e uma potencial de 180.000 agregados. DIMENSÃO ACTUAL DA REDE DE DISTRIBUIÇÃO Em alta tensão: 6 Subestações 60/15 kV (Cuca, Maianga, Mutamba, Nova Vida , Golfe e Zango), com uma capacidade instalada de 325 MVA. Em média tensão: 1048 postos de transformação e 362.8 km de extensão, possuindo uma capacidade instalada de 325 MVA. Desse total, 466 são postos privativos que atendem grandes clientes e 528 são para atender o comércio, serviços e residenciais. A EDEL possui ainda ligados à rede de média tensão da ENE/DRN, um conjunto de 48 postos de transformação. Em baixa tensão: 1.188 km de rede aérea e subterrânea. PONTA DO SISTEMA EM 2005 A ponta do sistema em 2005 foi de 204 MW, registada no mês de Janeiro de 2005. A taxa de crescimento da ponta foi de 3%, traduzindo um crescimento variável da demanda na cidade de Luanda. Para fazer face a tal demanda, foi ampliada a capacidade instalada em média tensão, mediante a ligação à rede de mais 41 postos de transformação, 18 dos quais instalados para serviço público, totalizando no conjunto um acréscimo de capacidade cifrado em 23,22 MVA. ENERGIA ADQUIRIDA NO ANO DE 2005 A energia adquirida foi de 1171 GWh. Deduzidas as perdas técnicas, estimadas em 15 %, a energia distribuída durante o ano de 2005 foi de 938,4 GWh. Comparativamente com o ano de 2004 (onde a energia distribuída atingiu um valor de 877,8 GWh), a taxa de crescimento da energia distribuída à cidade de Luanda foi de 8,79%, mantendo a tendência de crescimento ao redor dos 10% que se vinha registando há 3 anos, atestando o crescimento da infra-estrutura que atende um universo de consumidores que também se alarga.
