Nuli is Nigeria’s premier fruit and veggie juice brand. Our juices contain raw ingredients, sourced from the vast plateaus of Northern Nigeria. My name is Ada Osakwe, and in 2015, I launched  The Nuli Juice Company, to do just this. Following a career in private equity and public service, I founded Nuli because of my passion to make a difference in Africa’s agriculture industry.  I was bothered by the  $40 billion the continent’s leaders were spending each year to import food products that could actually be grown right here on our soils.  Why were we importing fruit juice concentrate from Europe, when we were Africa’s largest producer of juicy pineapples and second largest of citrus fruits like oranges. And spending over $1 billion importing tomato-derivatives like paste and ketchup, when the data showed we were producing over 2 million tonnes of tomatoes annually, the largest in West Africa. We should be processing all this agriculture produce to value-added food items ourselves! Nuli Juice Company Ultimately, the strategy should be not only to increase produce yields for African farmers, but to create consistent, sustainable offtake for what they harvest. I became obsessed with creating commercially viable avenues for locally-grown agriculture produce. Nuli, for short, started off producing fresh, all-natural beverages using ONLY locally-grown fruits and vegetables, which we sourced from small scale farmers. This meant that we were directly contributing to creating sustainable demand for their fresh produce and because we were staying local, it also ensured we had a shorter supply chain allowing for greater inclusion, sustainability and nutritional value in our food system. My philosophy was simple, our success is a farmer’s success too. We were determined to turn poverty to wealth. I chose Nuli, which comes from ‘Anwuli’, a Nigerian name that means ‘Happiness’, because of my desire to make people happy through good, healthy, tasty food.  More importantly, our fresh, natural, locally-grown products, helps the everyday person maintain a healthier lifestyle by conveniently providing better nutrition through, wholesome quality meals at affordable prices. I’m so proud of the recipes I created, from the famous Naanini wraps, to the various juice blends in our popular coldpressed juices. More importantly, I’m so thankful for the team of young people who’ve come along with me on this journey at various points to build an incredible company that’s touching lives for good.

The Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice) is a pan-African Center of Excellence for rice research, development and capacity building. It contributes to reducing poverty, achieving food and nutrition security and improving livelihoods of farmers and other rice value-chain actors in Africa by increasing the productivity and profitability of rice-based agri-food systems, while ensuring the sustainability of natural resources. AfricaRice is one of 15 international agricultural research centers of CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food-secure future. It is also an intergovernmental association of African member countries. It was established under the name “West Africa Rice Development Association (WARDA)” by 11 African countries and officially began operating in 1971. Recognizing the strategic importance of rice in Africa and the effective geographic expansion of the organization, its Council of Ministers took a historic decision in 2009 to change the organization’s name to “Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice)”. Its research and development activities are conducted in collaboration with various stakeholders—primarily the national agricultural research systems (NARS), academic institutions, advanced research institutions, farmers’ organizations, non-governmental organizations and donors—for the benefit of millions of African farmers and other actors of the rice value chain for whom rice means food and livelihoods.  Headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, AfricaRice has a staff complement of about 230 members, out of which 40 are internationally recruited staff, based in Côte d’Ivoire and in research stations in Madagascar, Nigeria and Senegal and in project sites in Liberia and Uganda. AfricaRice receives funding from governments, foundations, international financial institutions, development banks, the private sector, as well as from the CGIAR Trust Fund.

Kenya’s largest Trade company dealing with Agro commodity products. Over time, Mjengo Limited grew into one of Kenya’s largest Trading Companies dealing with Agro Commodity products and further added on Distribution lines from locally manufactured goods. Daawat Over the Years, with extended Brand focus, marketing, and distribution, it’s “Malbros Daawat” Brand has grown to become one of East Africa’s leading Rice Brand, and has since been awarded the “Superbrands” certification 2009/2011 as the only distinguished Rice Brand in it’s category. Nuvita In 2009, it subsequently set up a European Technology state of art Manufacturing Plant for Biscuits. It’s Biscuit Brand “NuVita” today boasts of approximately 18% market share in Kenya and looks onto expanding its distribution to the Region in due course. The Company is also an Exclusive distributor for “Dabur” range of Personal Care Products in Kenya. It is an exporting company which deals in the exportation of fresh seasonal fruits like (pineapples, mangoes, litchis and vegetables such as chilli, Brede,Breadfruit etc) . Bella Exotica Ltd. is situated in the north of Mauritius Island where most of the land is cultivated by big or small planters growing various types of crops which consist of various vegetables and fruit. The company has entitled adequate number of planters in this vicinity to collect from their cultivation and bring to the cold storage for packing and then exporting to serve its clients. Pineapples Variety: Queen Victoria The season for pineapples in Mauritius is whole year. Packing of Pineapples Fresh pineapples are packed in boxes of 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 kgs net per box depending order from client. It is packed in different sizes from 5 to 12 in maturity M2 and M3. All fruits are exported in heat treated wooden pallets of 104 boxes. Packing of Lychees 1. Sulphured lychees: These fruits are detached from peduncles and then placed in aerated crates in a sealed container where they are treated with sulphur dioxide. These lychees are packed in 2 kgs net per box and are palletized in heat treated wooden pallet of 260 boxes. 2. Fresh lychees: It is packed in a long shelf life plastic in 4 kgs net per box. Palletised in heat treated wooden pallet of 104 boxes. Here are some descriptions of other fruits and vegetables which Bella Exotica export to EU market.
